In advance, I'm sorry for any inaccuracies in my speech. I am fairly illiterate regarding network in general, and any knowledge I "learnt" was through ChatGPT.
As the title suggests, I am a student living in a residence. It has a shared network with wifi and a single Ethernet port per room.
Wifi works perfectly fine, and Ethernet used to until it randomly didn't. So I checked my connection, and both DNS and Default Gateway (or Route, idk which is the correct translation from my language) were set to an unknown IP address. I identified said IP, got the corresponding MAC and tada… Turns out it is a tp-link MR200 AC750. Apparently it is blocking me from accessing the residence network's IP (something DHCP-related, if that makes sense at all, I couldn't tell tbh)
So I was wondering, given the IP and the MAXmC of the to-link, is there any way I can gather more information about the user so I don't have to knock on every door of the building ? Legal ways of course.
