Hi everyone,
I need some help with my multiplayer experience in PS5. Below example is in regards to EAFC26, but I feel the same with other games (like COD).
First of all, I want to make it clear that I am an IT professional, and I believe I have sufficient knowledge to have tried everything from the 'basic' to even the 'advanced' steps to resolve connectivity issues.
In summary, it's unplayable in Division Rivals on PS5. It's the only mode I play because, with how it's performing, I have no intention of touching FutChampions. Let me explain what’s happening:
* Players turn like cranes (it doesn’t matter which player).
* It takes about 3 seconds for them to start running. This is the most frustrating part because they start skating and taking small steps before making a full stride. (I have analog sprint turned off).
* My players never stretch their legs to intercept a ball. They just stand there, watching the ball pass mere inches from their bodies.
* My goalkeepers don't save anything. They dive late and poorly.
* Opponents can shoot right in front of my defense, and my players won’t block the ball.
* When I intercept the ball, it bounces back to an opponent. I need to steal the ball 3 or 4 times in a single play to keep possession.
* Opponents always anticipate the ball. It's as if in contested plays, the ball is assigned to their players by default before mine.
* The ball literally passes through my players' boots, or they pull their legs back to avoid intercepting it, and my goalkeepers' hands mysteriously fold to let the ball through. I have videos of this.
* Everything my opponent shoots on target is a goal (inside the box, with the keeper right on them, outside the box with their weak foot, and with the outside of the foot…). Meanwhile, my shots are saved in ridiculously unrealistic ways.
* It’s impossible to dribble past an opponent. When attempting the simplest dribble (a ball roll), my player slows down after the move, while the opponent shoots forward to intercept the ball.
* My players make absurd passes. The simplest X pass goes straight to the opponent.
* If there’s an aerial ball and I try to head pass with X, one of two things happens: if there's an opponent nearby, they get to the ball first, and my player doesn’t even jump. If I'm alone, the header's direction is completely unpredictable.
As for my connection, I have 2Gb symmetric fiber, the router is directly connected to the PS5 via a Cat 6 Ethernet cable. Router with UPnP disabled, and all the necessary ports for both the PS5 and EAFC 26 opened. I even tried with DMZ but same results. Additionally, I am outside of CG-NAT and have IPv4.
The PS5 connection is set up manually, with a static IP, Google DNS, and an MTU of 1492 from the ISP/router. I also play with the controller connected to the PS5 via cable, just in case.
I usually play with a ping of around 10-16ms most of the time. In Pro Clubs, it's higher, around 30ms, but I care less about that mode. The rating I get in their 'Connection Quality Info' is 98 out of 100.
Despite all of this, it feels like I have 2 seconds of lag. The funniest part is that I’ve changed location, internet providers, and routers, and… it’s still the same. A bit strange that with THREE different internet providers (with different infrastructures, mind you), THREE different routers and THREE diffenrent monitors, I’m having the same issue, don’t you think?
I’ve also tried reinstalling the game, clearing the PS5 cache, deleting game data, etc., and nothing works.
Believe me, I’ve tried everything! The last thing I did was create a new EA account to see if my account is corrupted or something. I really need help… I see all my opponents enjoying the game, but that’s not the case for me. It doesn’t matter what time or day of the week it is… it NEVER works.
Offline modes seem to work a bit better. Also, during a couple of days in the last EAFC, everything was really good! Players were responsive without me changing anything, and I was even enjoying the matches I lost…
For COD is exactly the same. Having shoot first/die first, every game is a nightmare. When I see the opponent, I'm just insta-dying.

P.S.: If you’re going to blame the servers and all that, please don’t. We all know how the servers are, but this issue is not related to the servers; it’s something else. I’ve tried playing on the closest servers (Madrid) and even farther ones (Paris, Amsterdam, and Frankfurt), and it’s the same. I can understand it getting a bit worse sometimes, but not all the time and not in the way I’m experiencing it… And it always happens to me, not to my opponents…
