Does changing DNS actually make PS5 downloads faster?

I’m getting pretty inconsistent download speeds on my PS5 and wondering if the DNS settings are actually worth messing with. Console is a PS5 Slim with the standard 825GB SSD, connected over Wi-Fi 6 to a dual-band router, 5GHz network, and internet is supposed to be around 500 Mbps. Usually downloads sit around 150–250 Mbps but sometimes drop way lower for no obvious reason. Ethernet isn’t really an option where the console is placed, so trying to get the most out of Wi-Fi. I keep seeing people recommend Google DNS 8.8.8.8, Cloudflare 1.1.1.1, or changing the secondary DNS too. Does that actually increase the download speed on PS5 or does it mainly just help with finding servers / connection reliability? Also does DNS choice matter depending on ISP or location? Don’t wanna change a bunch of network settings and end up making things worse. If you’ve actually tested different DNS servers on PS5, what kind of difference did you see? Especially for big game downloads and updates.
